To ensure that the clinical, financial, and operational goals of the nursing home are consistently met as determined by the governing boards of Shore LifeCare and Shore Health Services. Furthermore, to ensure compliance with all pertinent local, state, and federal regulations.
• To ensure adequate staffing, supplies, equipment, and knowledge to meet the operational, clinical and regulatory needs of the facility.
• To prepare and present reports for SHS Administration, the SLC Board of Directors, and the SHS Board of Trustees as requested.
• To oversee each department at the nursing home and ensure it is operating according to expectations and standards as listed above.
• To oversee all QAA functions and committees.
• To remain alert to changes in industry standards and communicate and plan for these changes appropriately.
• To manage all financial operations at the facility to include payroll, supplies, contracted services, annual budget preparation, A/P, A/R, and reimbursement issues to ensure the facility is operating within organizational standards.
• To ensure training, performance, and educational standards meet organizational standards.
• To ensure the physical plant is safe, clean, and comfortable at all times and that disaster and contingency plans are developed, understood, and observed.
• To ensure the facility has an on-going and effective public relations and marketing plan and that this plan is conducted in an effective manner.
• To ensure all vendors, contractors, medical staff, etc. meet regulatory and organizational standards.
• To ensure all policies and procedures are developed, current, and maintained according to regulatory and organizational standards.
• To ensure that corporate compliance education and procedures are developed and enforced at the nursing home.
• To ensure coordination between the nursing home and the human resources department for Shore Health Services.
Duties and responsibilities require the ability to communicate information to others including employees, residents, visitors and the public. Must be able to convey basic understanding, sympathy or understanding where required, and otherwise promote and maintain congenial and professional relationships.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required. VA Nursing Home Administrator License required. Masters in Health Administration or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience in healthcare administration required. 3-5 years of nursing home administration preferred.
